WELCOME!

Africa has often been described as the least understood continent. From basic issues like its misrepresentation as a country; even though it’s a continent with 54 countries, to more serious matters like the governance structures of its constituent nations. Other socio-economic issues continue to detract the continent’s progress and the stories of its people are consistently portrayed as in dire need of attention.

However, these stories cannot be fully understood without the contexts in which they occur, or the backgrounds of the characters that these stories are about. The devil is in the detail as they say, and those details have to be specified by those who understand them. For the sake of my writing, I’ll call them Africa’s children. Not necessarily because they or their ancestors were of African descent, but because they’ve taken their time to understand the African people, our cultures and the nuances that make us unique.

So, to all those who came before me and are given to telling Africa’s stories and portraying her in graceful authenticity, I salute you. I am ‘Kunle Odesola, and I welcome you.
